Nigerian Players abroad Former Enugu Rangers Midfielder Joins Turkish Super Lig Club

Nigerian international Obinna Nwobodo has signed a 3-year deal with Turkish Super Lig side , Goztepe from Hungarian club Ujpest FC.

Nwobodo was a former player for Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club, Rangers International of Enugu.

The midfielder move came few weeks after Oghenekaro Etebo joined Galatasaray on a season long loan from Stoke City.

Gotzepe announced the deal via a statement of its official website.

“We signed a 3-year contract with Nigerian midfielder Obinna Nwobodo, born in 1996.

Born on November 29, 1996 in Enugu, Nigeria, Nwobodo played in the teams of his country, and in the 2017-18 season,

he transferred to the Hungarian Ujpest team and played in the Hungarian team in the following seasons.

“We welcome Obinna Nwobodo to our Göztepe and wish them success with our glorious form.”

The 23-year old made 99 appearances for Ujpest in the Hungarian League with 10 goals to his name in his three years spell.

Nwobodo played for Rangers from 2015-2017 and was instrumental in helping the Flying Antelopes win the NPFL title.

He was named the best player of the club and was given an award for his performance during the 2015-2016 season by Enugu Rangers management.
