Nigerian Players abroad Iwobi Makes First League Appearance For Everton

 

Alex Iwobi made his first Premier League appearance of the season for Everton who maintained their unbeaten streak with a victory over Crystal Palace.

 
Iwobi who started on the bench for Carlo Ancelotti, came in as a substitute in the 86th minute for James Rodriguez.
 
Ancelotti had left the midfielder out in Everton’s first two games against Tottenham and West Bromwich Albion.

However, his impressive performance in the Carabao Cup third round 5-2 against Fleetwood Town caught Ancelotti attention as he included Him in the team.
 
Calvin-Lewin gave Everton the lead just 10 minutes of play before Cheick Kouyate equalized for Crystal Palace.
 
Richarlison restored Everton’s lead in the 40th minute from the spot.
 
Both teams failed to score in the second half and Everton ran home with the maximum three points.
 
Ancelotti then brought in Iwobi for who made a cameo appearance as Everton held on to their 2-1 led.
 
Iwobi joined Everton in the 2019/2020 summer transfer signing a five-year contract.
 
 He enjoyed much playing time under former manager, Marco Silva last season.
 
But following the signing of players like James Rodriguez, Allan by Ancelotti, the Super Eagles midfielder position is under threat.
