Rising in England, Tariq Lamptey is in the sights of the Ghanaian Football Association (GFA). His performances seduced the Black Stars coach. But the young player’s priority is not national selection.

Trained at Chelsea, Lamptey joined Brighton last winter. Since then, he’s become a meteoric ascent. And the 20-year-old player is already hitting the eye of Charles Akonnor. When asked about this, the right back declared to have been concentrating on his club for the moment.

“No. I’m still young. So I’m looking forward to the next game to keeping playing as well as I can. Right now, I’m just focusing on Brighton and playing as many games as I can. Keep training as hard as I can, keep playing well and maintain a constant level.” He said.

“In the end, the harder I work and the more games I play are the most important things for my progress. What will happen in the future internationally, we will have to wait and see.” He concluded. Likely to play for Ghana and England, Tariq Lamptey should make a decisive choice in the years to come
