Africa Soccer Ghana is not respected anymore in Africa – Black Stars legend Polo

Ghana

1978 AFCON winner with Black Stars Alhadji Mohammed Polo is disgusted regarding the respect Ghana have around the African continent nowadays and in the world as a whole.

Ghana’s latest Africa Cup Of Nations was in 1982. So far, the Black Stars missed out snatching the trophy two times, in 2010 and 2015.

Now, that CK Akonnor is leading the team and aims at putting an end to this trophy drought, Mohammed Polo said it will be difficult as Ghana lost it honor in the world of football.

“To be frank, Ghana is not respected anymore on the continent. Mali scoring us 3-0 justifies what I am saying. Some years back, other countries had great respect for our game but as we speak it is no more because they are able to score us with ease” Polo told Bryt FM, as reported by Sportworldghana.

“I think we are sleeping, a country that has been likened to Brazil. We had players that were compared to world class players like Ronaldo, Messi and others. We need to start organizing ourselves if we want to win a trophy but for now I don’t think we can end the trophy drought anytime soon” he added.
