Top News KF Tirana Terminates Egbo Contract After Poor Start To The Season

Albanian League champions KF Tirana have sacked their Nigerian head coach Ndubuisi Egbo after series of poor results.

Few months ago, Egbo made the headlines as the first African coach to win the Albanian League and qualify for the UEFA Champions League playoffs.

However, this season saw a twist of fate as the club struggled to replicate their last season form.

They failed to make it through to the UEFA Champions League group stage and also saw got some poor results in the Albanian League.

All these formed the club management decisions to terminate Egbo’s contract.

The club made the announcement in a statement released on Thursday.

 “After the poor performance of the team in the last matches, Egbo will no longer be at the top of the white and blues due to the poor results.

“The club thank him for the dedication and success achieved, which culminated with the return of the championship title.

“The club also wish him success in his career, the camp of champions gave special merit of success last season to the man who for years was and will be part of the white and blue family.”

Tirana managed to win two out of their last seven games and on Wednesday, they were eliminated from the Albanian Cup
