Napoli has confirmed that Victor Osimhen has already started physiotherapy and will be evaluated daily ahead of the Serie A resumption.

Osimhen faces fitness race after he injured while on international duty with Super Eagles in their AFCON 4-4 qualifier draw against Sierra Leone.

The Napoli forward scored Super Eagles second goal but could not complete the game as he was substituted following a shoulder injury.

He missed the return leg after he was allowed to go back to his club by Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr.

Napoli in a statement said the player underwent tests which showed results of dislocation anterior to the right shoulder.

“Victor Osimhen underwent tests at the Villa Stuart clinic in Rome, the instrumental tests and the clinical evaluation that showed results of dislocation anterior to the right shoulder. 

“The player has already started physiotherapy and will be evaluated daily,”reads a statement on the club website.

Osimhen who joined the Serie A side from Lille this season is expected to be fit ahead of this weekend game against AC Milan.
