BRIGHTON BOOST
Goalkeeper Brighton Munthali has boosted Silver Strikers’ squad after resuming training ahead of their clash against Kamuzu Barracks (KB) FC at Silver Stadium on Sunday December 13 2020.
Silver’s website has reported that coach Dan Kabwe is ready to welcome back the Flames goalkeeper after he gave him time off.
“Munthali was given time off training for two weeks after the Lilongwe Soccer Fest by Head coach Dan Kabwe just before the team travelled away to Civo Stadium in the Lilongwe Derby,” www.silverstrikersfc.mw reports.
Munthali will fight for the number one jersey with Charles Thom, among other goalkeepers at the Area 47 side.
Silver have also welcomed back in training Prince Phiri. He was also given time off to focus on school commitments.
However, Silver will be without Jack Chiona and Rodwell Robert who are still nursing injuries.
The Bankers will be gunning for their first win this season when facing the soldiers.
Silver started the campaign with a 2-1 loss to Civil Service United before drawing 0-0 against Be Forward Wanderers.
Last season, the Bankers beat Kamuzu Barracks 1-0 margins in the first and second rounds courtesy of Marshall Maluwa and Michael Tetteh’s goals.
Last season, Silver finished on fourth place with 53 points from 30 games whereas KB secured seventh place with 42 points.
