African players abroad ENGLAND : AUBAMEYANG ENDS GOAL DROUGHT

Aubameyang joins other players to take the knee in support of Black Lives Matter.

Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ended his goal drought when he found the back of the net in 1-1 draw against Southampton in a Premier League match played on Wednesday.

The Gunners and Gabon skipper scored to cancel out former Arsenal striker Theo Walcott’s goal for Southampton.

It was the first goal for Aubameyang in six league games.

The result saw Arsenal halt a six-game losing streak to remain on 15th place on the log table whereas Southampton are third.

The game was not without drama as Arsenal defender Gabriel received marching orders for a second bookable offence.

In weekend’s 1-0 loss to Burnley, Xaka for Arsenal was also red-carded.
