Cameroon skipper Jacques Zoua evoked the ambitions of Intermediate Lions in CHAN 2020 as he told CAF Online, they want to win the tournament they are hosting.
Lions registered four points out of their first two group stage games. And for Zoua, 29, it is a good start considering the pressure of host country.
“I think we started the tournament in the best possible way. Four points in two games is a good start. We have developed great football, and this is only the beginning, “ Jacques Zoua told CAF’s official website.
Furthermore, the former Coton Sport striker revealed that he returned to the domestic league in order to help his country win the African Nations Championship and the group’s main target is the trophy.
“I returned to Cameroon when the pandemic began. After terminating my contract with Astra Giurgiu in Romania, I decided to sign with a local club. This is how I could help my country at Total CHAN and fulfill our people’s dream of winning the tournament,
“We have a dream; to win Total CHAN 2020 and then Total AFCON 2021 here at home,” Zoua concluded.
