Pitso Mosimane

Al Ahly manager Pitso Mosimane revealed after his side win in Cairo derby (1-2) that he has been verbally abused by Patrice Carteron’s assistant who insulted him in Portuguese.

Al Ahly managed to beat arch-rivals to come closer to them on Egyptian Premier League despite having three games in hand being forced to play without many of their figureheads.

After the game, Pitso Mosimane revealed that he was insulted by the assistant of Carteron.

“…I fully appreciate Patrice Carteron and there was no verbal altercation between us during the game”, the South African manager said.

“However, his assistants insulted me in Portuguese and I understood them and I responded back. We have to become professionals and accept what happens on the pitch.

“Al Ahly missed many important individuals such as Ali Maaloul, Mohamed Hany, Hamdi Fathi, Mahmoud Wahid and others, but according to the squad we have, we succeeded in achieving the victory and clinching the three points.

“I am happy with Mohamed Sherif, whether with Al Ahly or the Egyptian national team, and he always aims to lead the team to achieve victories at all levels, but I am not an American to look only on his stats,” he added.
