Africa Soccer DSTV PREMIERSHIP : Sundowns seek to duck flying Golden Arrows

Mamelodi Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns should find a way of ducking dangerously flying Golden Arrows today, Wednesday, to avoid a second consecutive defeat.

Going into the DStv Premiership encounter at Loftus Versfeld, Sundowns are smarting from a 2-1 loss to Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday.

Ahead of the afternoon’s game, Sundowns co-coach, Rulani Mokwena, praised Arrows as a well-drilled team that cause the league champions problems.

“[They are a] good team,” he told the club’s website.

They have shown good consistency throughout the season. They are a good team with a clear playing philosophy and a clear structure in all schemes. In possession, you know exactly how the behaviour is and structurally how they set themselves up from the build-up.”

From the last twelve goals that they have scored, ninety percent of them have come in between the phase of regaining possession and attacking, they average about 8 seconds to get into your final third, in transition they can hurt you,” Mokwena added.

Arrows are in form having gone eight games unbeaten and they are very much in the hunt for the league title.

A win for Arrows would see the step closer to the summit.

The Durban based team has  42 points from 24 games, two behind second-placed AmaZulu and five behind the leaders, Sundowns.
