Africa Soccer AmaZulu Boss Sandile Zungu Not Ready To Release Benni McCarthy For Bafana Bafana Job

The new Bafana Bafana coach was expected to be announced last Saturday. But that was cancelled at the last minute.

However, AmaZulu boss Sandile Zungu says Benni McCarthy has no interest in leaving the DStv Premiership club to Bafana Bafana.

The former Cape Town City boss has steered Usuthu to second place on the league standings this season, with six games of the season to play.

“We have no interest in letting Benni leave AmaZulu FC. He is doing a fantastic job. We are enjoying him. And he is equally happy at AmaZulu.” Zungu told TimesLIVE.

Benni McCarthy had previously said he would be open to helping Bafana following the sacking of former mentor Molefi Ntseki after failing to steer South Africa to the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon.
