Ghana Black Stars’ centre-back John Boye could leave French Ligue 1 side FC Metz in the next summer transfer window as he is taking time to sign a contract extension.

The 34-year-old’ contract will expire in June and Metz officials presented him a contract extension proposal last month. However, the veteran defender declined it as his future is doubtful in the club.

“He must make his choice before June 30. He’s still showing good things at 34, he’s a player we need. He can be part of the project, a proposal has been made to him. It has its place with us,” said Metz manager Frederic Antonetti earlier this month.

John Boye who arrived at Metz in 2018 made 34 league appearances this season and scored once while assisting twice.
