Bafana Bafana abroad Percy Tau vows to work hard to avoid another loan spell out of Brighton

Percy Tau

Bafana Bafana striker Percy Tau said he will work harder than ever to get his position at Brighton & Hove Albion as he does not intend to go out on loan for the third time.

The 28-year-old has finally spent a season with the Seagulls after having gone on loan at Club Brugge and Anderlecht.

However, Tau had to struggle for his playing time as he just featured six times under Graham Potter orders.

Now, the South African star is eager to start a new season where he can fight for his own place in the team and get more minutes in the Premier League.

“It’s not to move away from Brighton, because the situation can change. I signed with Brighton [in 2018] hoping that I would play in the EPL, then I got loaned out,” Tau said as per Kickoff.

“Now that I’ve come back, I want to go back [on loan]? Nah… I wouldn’t think in that way anyway. If I don’t play, I will try and put myself in the team – I’ll work even harder to try and put myself [in a position] to get opportunities to play.

“When I was not playing, yes, it was difficult because I was playing the previous season, but sometimes it’s expected for it to be challenging”, Percy Tau added.
