Africa Soccer Black Stars arrives Morocco ahead of friendly vs Atlas Lions

Ghana Black Stars landed in Rabat, Morocco on Monday morning where they will engage Atlas Lions in a friendly game on Tuesday, June 8 (7pm).

Morocco are the first opponents for Ghana in this international FIFA break.

After a week of preparation in Accra where they all gathered under the guidance of coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor and his staff, Andre Ayew and teammates have left their home country on Sunday and arrived the following day, that is today, Monday 7.

After this game, Ghana will hold neighbors Ivory Coast for their second friendly match.

Like many other nations, Ghana are using the matches to prepare for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers that have been rescheduled by CAF/FIFA to September 2021 over COVID-19 concerns.

Ghana are paired with South Africa, Zimbabwe and Ethiopia in Group G of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
