Africa Soccer GUINEA : Horoya win Guinea League championship

Horoya AC have won the Ligue I championship in Guinea with four games to go.

Horoya sealed their 19 league title and their seventh on the bounce after playing out to a  goalless draw with Wakriya AC on Wednesday afternoon.

The defending champions have amassed unassailable 49 points.

Horoya are nine points ahead of the second-placed CI Kamsar.

Wakirya sit seventh with 35 points. Elephant Coleah are bottom with 18 points

Horoya dominated the match played at the Stade du September 28 in Conakry but could not find the target.

During the game, Horoya nearly scored but Boniface Haba’s shot was stopped by the visitors goalkeeper Amadou Coumbassa in the eighth minute.

Baffour Sebe had played a corner kick and  found Khadim Diaw who in turn played the ball to Haba.

In the 21st minute, Ibrahima Kalil Toure crossed the ball which flashed marginally wide of post.

First-half ended with no real shot on target but the tempo of the game improved in the second- half but still there were no goals.
