African players abroad OFFICIAL : Patson Daka joins Leicester City from RB Salzburg

Patson Daka

English Premier League side Leicester City have just announced the capture of Zambian goal posher Patson Daka from Austrian Bundesliga giants RB Salzburg on a five-year deal.

Daka, 22, has been a long-time target for Liverpool and even UEFA Champions league winners Chelsea who later joined the race.

However, the Chipolopolo striker was convinced by the Foxes who promised him a consequent playing time.

He started catching the eyes of European top clubs following his stellar performances as he scored 27 goals and provided 7 assists in 28 league appearances and walked away with the MVP Award last season.

Patson Daka said his dream has come true.

“I’m so, so excited to join this great, historic Club. It has been my dream and I’m so happy and looking forward to what’s coming next”, Patson Daka said after putting pen on paper.

“I have followed Leicester from the time they won the league. I feel it is the perfect place for me, because it’s a team that fights for titles. I know it’s not going to be easy, but I feel ready to face this new challenge.

“I will give my best for the Club each and every day, and I look forward to seeing the Leicester City fans inside the stadium soon”, he added.

The deal will see Daka wearing Leicester outfit until June 2026. According to Sky Sports, the transfer costed £23 to Leicester.

Daka is set to bring more striking options to Brendan Rodgers alongside Kelechi Iheanacho and teammates next season as Leicester will play Europa League football once again.
