Patrice Carteron

Zamalek head coach Patrice Carteron said his side’ is yet to win the Egyptian Premier League title as despite being two victories away from it and having four points ahead of their arch-rivals Al Ahly.

The White Knights just need three points out of their last three matches to lift the 13th league title in their history.

Following their 1-0 over Wadi Degla on Tuesday night, the Cairo outfit made a step closer to the silverware.

However, French gaffer Carteron said they have to be careful and stay focus until the end of the league as nothing is done yet with Al Ahly also promising to fight for a spectacular comeback.

“We took an important step today towards the league title and an important result, but the performance was not good,” Carteron told OnTime Sport TV, as per KingFut.

“We missed a lot of chances and eventually allowed Degla to have chances to equalize.

“Since the last training camp, I have prepared everyone to participate, especially since we play a match every three days and suffer from stress. Each person who played today was very good.

“We haven’t won anything yet. We must win the next matches. This is the consistency we need throughout the season to win the title. We have not won anything yet,” he added.

In addition, Patrice Carteron and his men will take on Ceramica Cleopatra on Friday, August 20 (7pm) for Egyptian Premier League’s matchday 32.
