Africa Soccer Mwase coach releases squad for World Cup qualifying matches

Malawi coach Meck Mwase has released a 25-member squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifying matches for Group D.

Mwase released the squad on Monday morning at the Malawi FA head office in Blantyre.

The Flames of Malawi will travel to face Cameroon on September 3 followed by the home-away-from-home tie against neighbours Mozambique four days later in South Africa.

The Flames will host the Mambas of Mozambique at Soweto Stadium after CAF declared Bingu National Stadium of Lilongwe as unfit for the World Cup tie.

Mwase has picked usual faces that helped the Flames to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations finals in Cameroon.

Scotland-based defender Kieran Ngwenya is also part of the squad, whose  home-based players will regroup this Wednesday with the exception of players for Nyasa Big Bullets who will report for training on Thursday evening after their game against Red Lions.

Winger Duncan Nyoni, who signed for Simba SC last week from Silver has been dropped alongside third-choice goalkeeper William Thole and midfielder Rafik Namwera of Mighty Wanderers.
