Africa Soccer Gambia coach Saintfiet names 23-man squad for 2022 World Cup qualifiers

Gambia national team head coach Tom Saintfiet has named a 23-man squad for the upcoming 2022 World Cup qualifiers in September.

The Scorpions will host Seychelles on September 4 at home for the matchday 1 of these qualifiers in African zone.

Furthermore, Gambia will make a trip to Moroni where they will take off Comoros on matchday 2.

Saintfiet has previously named Beerschot’s Abdoulie Sanyang in hjis squad but the later pulled off due to injury obliging the Belgian coach to replace him by Bubacarr Marong as confirmed by the Gambian Football Federation on Thursday afternoon.

“Abdoulie Sanyang of Beerschot pulled out of Scorpions squad due to injury. He’ll be replaced by Bubacarr Marong of Palermo in Italy. We wish Bambalie a speedy recovery”, a statement on GFF’s social media reads.
