COSAFA Sundowns, Double Action, Rhinos Queens qualify for semifinals

South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, Double Action Ladies from Botswana  and Zimbabwe’s Black Rhinos Queens have confirmed their semifinal places in the Cosafa qualifiers for the CAF Women’s Champions League.

Double Action Ladies qualified for the semifinals from Group A after beating Lesotho Defence Force 6-0 on Monday.

Gaonyadiwe Ontlametse opened the floodgates before Lesego Radiakanyo (two), Bonang Otlhagile, Lone Kgalaeng and Lesego Pineng added more goals.


The group’s leaders Sundowns also booked their last-four spot after strolling past Eswatini’s Manzini Wanderers 6-1 on Monday.

The Pretoria-based team won the game via goals from Chantelle Esau and Lelona Daweti ( a brace each),  Thembelihle Masibi and Nomvula Sanga 


Sundowns lead the standings with nine points from then Double Action on six points whereas Lesotho and Wanderers have a one point each from three games.

In Group B, Black Rhinos Queens also secured their place in the semifinals from three-member Group B after collecting six points from two matches.

Action continues this afternoon in Group B with Tura Magic of Namibia set to face Green Buffaloes from Zambia in Durban.

Best two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals scheduled for Thursday.
