African players abroad PSG Manager Shares Good Memories About Okocha And Ronaldinho

PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino who, during his playing days at Parc de princes, played alongside some of the best players in the World, including Former Super Eagles star and Nigeria Legend Jay-Jay Okocha, has shared his experience.

In an interview with Ligue 1, Pochettino described Okocha, Ronaldinho, and Anelka as ‘Amazing’.

Well, the first day I arrived, the first goal that I scored at the Parc des Princes… to have the possibility to play with players like [Jay Jay] Okocha, Ronaldinho… Yes, to be in the Parc des Princes with our fans.” He said.

They were amazing. I don’t know, many many memories.”

“Twenty years ago, of course, this with Okocha, Ronaldinho, Anelka… Many players were amazing.” He continued.

Okocha and Pochettino were teammates for Paris Saint-Germain between 2001 and 2002. The Nigerian icon played 84 games for the Ligue 1 giants scoring 12 goals.

The former Super Eagles captain, in 2002, left the French capital for Bolton Wanderers. And he spent four years with the Premier League side. He later went to play in the Qatari league before finishing his career at Hull City.

On the international stage, Okocha was known as one of Africa’s greatest players. He was part of the 1994 AFCON winning side. The Enugu-born star also won gold with Team Nigeria at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic games.

Okocha scored 14 goals in 73 caps for the National team between 1993 and 2006.
