Ghana

Andre Ayew’s goal from the penalty spot against South Africa tonight (1-0) secured Ghana Black Stars a spot for the World Cup qualifiers play-offs round.

Ghana need a win and Ghana won. That was the only condition for Milovan Rajevac’s men going into the match.

And Skipper Andre Ayew took his responsibilities in the 33rd minute after Daniel Amartey was brought down in the box on a corner kick.

The Al Sadd winger scored that awaited goal after Mohammed Kudus’ exit due to injury and Black Stars managed to keep that short advantage until the full-time.

Ghana is now 90 minutes away from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after missing out on the Russia World Cup where all of the African representatives were knocked out in the group stages.
