Nigerian Players abroad Ndidi, Iheanacho Sinks With Leicester City Against Chelsea

Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho were in action on Saturday for Leicester City who suffered a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea at the King Power Stadium.

Both players returned to Leicester City having helped the Super Eagles to secure a playoff place for 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Ndidi retained his starting place in the midfield while Iheanacho came in as a substitute for Ademola Lookman in the 46th minute.

Goals from Antonio Rudiger, N’golo Kante and Christian Pulisic handed Chelsea the three points as the Blues keep their title race.

Reacting to the game, Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers in his post-match conference said the team need to work harder.

“It’s a big, big issue for us, the set pieces,” the Northern Irishman added.

“We’re conceding way too many and, obviously, we’re going behind in games and that’s giving us a big problem.

“We’ve looked at it and we need to work even harder on it and see where we’re at.”
