“We prepared the game well. Even if we didn’t have a lot of time, we focused a lot more on recovery than on working”, Cisse said.

“Burkina Faso is a very good team that we know. They were part of our group during 2018 World Cup qualifiers. If I remember well, it was two hard-fought matches for us. Besides, we were 0-0 at home and I think 2-2 in Burkina Faso.

“Now, the team changed. There is a new generation coming in that is very promising and doing very good things. If this generation is there, it is because there is work being done.

“Kamou Malo is someone who does a very good job. I think he should be congratulated. Since his appointment, the team progressed.

“So we are going to an AFCON semi-final. The four teams that remain fought to be here. We are expecting a tough game, but we are ready.”
