Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan has outlined the key Black Stars will need on Friday evening in their World Cup playoff tie against neighbors Nigeria at the Baba Yara Stadium (19:30 GMT).

The Ghana vs Nigeria clash is more than a game. Apart from the 2022 World Cup ticket which is the main stake, the game is really important for both nations due to the rivalry between them.

For Gyan who is Black Stars’ all-time top scorer, all Otto Addo’s men need is to have a good mindset.

“I played three or four times against Nigeria. We drew once in a friendly and we won three times. Nigeria never beat us while I played for Ghana“, Gyan recalled in an interview with 3Sports.

“Going to this game is all about mindset. There are matches you d’ont need a coach. You must go into the game with positive energy and you’ll win”, he continued.

Furthermore, Asamoah Gyan insisted that he’s yet to retire from football as he wishes good luck to the Black Stars for this clash against the Super Eagles.

“I would have love to be in a game like this but right now I’m not playing so I just have to wish the Black Stars very good luck for this game.

“I have not retired yet. If I have to play actively, I just have to train and shed weight in about three months and then I can play. Age wise I’m very okay.”
