FIFA World Cup “We Have The Memory Of The AFCON Final Engraved In Our Brain” Egypt Midfielder Amr El-Sulya

Egypt are hosting Senegal this Friday 25 March in the Cairo International Stadium for the first leg of the final round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, the second of which will take place four days later, on the 29th, in Dakar.

And the Pharaohs’ midfielder Amr El-Sulya said getting a win in the first leg, in front of the home fans, could be crucial for them if they want put one foot in the World Cup finals.

We all have enough experience to play with the attendance of fans. And it feels different when you play in a full stadium.” El-Sulya said in the pre-match press conference.

We want the fans to have the same spirit as the team has. I wish success to any 11 players on the pitch. And I hope we will congratulate each other after the match.

“We know the responsibility we have towards the Egyptian people. It’s a final, and everyone’s dream is to reach the World Cup. We will try to get a positive result in the first match so have a bigger chance of reaching the World Cup.

“We have the memory of the AFCON final engraved in our brain. What we talked about as players and coaching staff was our ability to respond and qualify for the World Cup. And all players truly believe that.

“We have great hope that god will compensate for our efforts. And with the fans in the stands, our only goal is to win tomorrow (Friday).

“We’re all doing what is required of us and trying to improve everyday. We realize the importance of the stage we’re in, we see how close we are to qualifying for the World Cup, and we have the motives to qualify.” He concluded.
