Arsenal Arteta Banks On Gunners Fans Ahead Manchester United Game

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta every point will be crucial in the race for Champions League qualification ahead of their game against Manchester United on Saturday.

With only six games remaining this season, the Gunners will be hoping to keep fighting for the ticket.

They are in fifth position, level on points with Tottenham but with a lower goal difference, heading into Saturday’s home game against Manchester United.

The Gunners lead United by three points despite having played one game fewer.

Arteta in his pre-match conference said as a result, there is virtually no room for error as the season progresses, and hope the fans play a pivotal role in Saturday’s game .

Ashburton Army, a supporters group, is organising a tifo display before the game on Saturday, in order for the fans to ‘do our bit in continuing to support the players and the manager to keep going.’

When asked about the proposal during his pre-match press conference on Friday, Arteta said yes.

“I am really pleased to hear all of those things because that initiative means that they are really engaged with the team,” he said.

They want to show them they are with the team, that they want to participate and they feel like they are really participating in the success of the team.

“I’ve always said that if we make this stadium a fortress it will be really difficult not to be successful.

“They have a big, big part to play and hopefully tomorrow they can help us do that.”
