The Super Falcons were defeated 4-2 by the South Africans at the Aisha Buhari Invitational event in Lagos the last time the two sides faced.

As part of their preparations for the competition, Randy Waldrum’s team recently played two friendly matches versus Olympic winners Canada.

In Morocco, the Super Falcons will be aiming for a record-extending 10th WAFCON title.

Morocco, who are seeded first in Group A, will face Burkina Faso, Senegal, and Uganda.

Cameroon, Zambia, Tunisia, and Togo make up Group B.

The Black Queens of Ghana and the Lady Elephants of Cote d’lvoire, two of the continent’s most powerful teams, failed to qualify for the competition.

The AWCON will generate four automatic qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup, which will be held in Australia and New Zealand in year.

In July of 2022, the competition will take place.
