With Amusan’s gold, Nigeria has now won 10 gold medals overall, one less than the 11 won in 1994, 2010, and 2014.

With the women’s long jump final and the 4x100m relays both taking place later on Sunday afternoon and evening, respectively, it is also one shy of the three gold medals the track and field team earned in 1990, 1994, and 2014.
