Nigerian Players abroad Iheanacho Goal Not Enough To Save Leicester City From Seagulls

Kelechi Iheanacho first goal of the season for Leicester City was not enough to salvage his team from another loss against Brighton in Sunday’s Premier League.

The Foxes continues to fumble this season as they were confined to another defeat as they are yet to win this season.

Iheanacho opened scoring for Leicester in the 51 minutes from a Patson Daka’s pull back from the left.

However, the advantage was short-lived as Solly March’s header was turned in by Leicester defender Luke Thomas after only eight minutes.

James Maddison’s errant pass allowed Brighton to take the lead in the 15th minute when Moises Caicedo scored after Enock Mwepu had set him up.

But after 32 minutes of a chaotic first half, Leicester scored once again. Daka avoided Lewis Dunk’s charge and slid the ball past Robert Sanchez for a score of 2-2 after Youri Tielemans, who was far within his own half, put the ball over the top of the Brighton defense.

Alexis Mac Allister thought he had given the Seagulls the lead back with a magnificent strike from 30 yards, but the goal was ultimately disallowed following a lengthy video assistance referee review that lasted more than four minutes.

Leandro Trossard scored Brighton’s third goal after receiving a pass from Pascal Gross. Trossard later won a penalty, which Mac Allister converted for Brighton’s fourth goal.

Argentina midfielder Mac Allister, who curled in a stunning 25-yard free-kick in stoppage time for his second goal and Brighton’s fifth, had the final word, fittingly.

As a result, Brighton’s strong start to the season is maintained, and they are currently fourth in the Premier League, three points ahead of Leicester, who have only earned one point from their first six games.
