Nigeria Rivers United Returns To Nigeria After CAF Confed Cup Win

Rivers United flew in from Libya after earning a spot in the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

In a closely contested second leg match on Wednesday in Benghazi, the NPFL champions held Libyan team Al Nasr to a 1-1 draw.

The Pride of Rivers won the first leg 5-0 last week at the Adokiye Amasiamaka Stadium in Port-Harcourt to advance 6-1 on aggregate to the group stage of the competition.

They left Libya early on Thursday and arrived in Abuja, Nigeria, late on Friday.

They are now awaiting their tournament opponents for the group stage, with the draw scheduled for November 16 in Cairo, Egypt.
