Cristiano Ronaldo will not play against Nigeria’s Super Eagles on Thursday, according to Fernando Santos, manager of the Selecao of Portugal.

In a friendly match at Lisbon’s Estádio José Alvalade, the former European champions will take on the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

They began their World Cup preparations on Monday.

One of the athletes that arrived early for camp was Ronaldo, but he was sick on Wednesday and was unable to participate in team drills.

Ronaldo won’t be available for the match against the former African champions, the squad’s coach Santos confirmed following team practice.
