AFCON-20 AFCON U20:Flying Eagles Departs Abuja For Egypt

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria, seven-time African champions has departed from Abuja for Ghana, where they will connect to Egypt for the 2023 CAF U20 African Nations Cup.

Flying Eagles, two-time World Cup champions, defeated Zambia U20 Team 4-2 last Friday in an international exhibition game at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.

Along with the host, Egypt, Senegal, and Mozambique, Nigeria is in group A.

Beginning on February 19th, Nigeria’s campaign will feature Senegal.

The competition will serve as both the African qualifying tournament and the Indonesia-hosted FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2023. The top four groups will earn World Cup qualification.

Ghana was the reigning champion after winning their fourth championship in 2021, but they will not be defending their title because they were unable to make the tournament.
