FIFA U20 WORLD CUP Scaloni Leads Race For FIFA Best Coach Of The Year Awards

The three contenders announced by Fifa for the title of “Best” coach of the year in 2022 are Pep Guardiola of Manchester City, Real Madrid’s Carlo Ancelotti, and World Cup-winning coach Lionel Scaloni of Argentina.

As a resilient Argentina shined at the World Cup in Qatar under Scaloni’s leadership, Real Madrid under Ancelotti shown strength of character in a string of comebacks to ultimately win the Champions League.

The final three in the women’s division were Sonia Bompastor of Lyon, winner of the Champions League, Pia Sundhage of Brazil, and Sarina Wiegman of England, who won the Euro 2022 championship.

On February 27, Fifa will announce the replacements for former Chelsea coaches Thomas Tuchel and Emma Hayes, who both won in 2021.

The national team’s coach, captain, and a journalist are given votes from each nation, and internet votes from supporters also count.

On Friday, Fifa will release the eagerly anticipated players shortlist.
