All 34 delegates present at the Assembly voted unanimously in favor of the former vice president of the SFF. Delegates showed their support for Abdi Mohamed by raising their yellow cards.

The necessary roll call was taken by the SFF General Secretary Yusuf Mohudin Ahmed prior to the elections, and it revealed that 34 of the entire 46 delegates were present.

In order to conduct the election, Isak Abdullahi Hassan, the chairman of the electoral committee, and six other members of his team asked Ali Abdi Mohamed and his group to leave the room.

The chairman of the electoral committee said, “I declare Ali Abdi Mohamed President of the Somali Football Federation after 34 delegates cast yes votes in his favor.

The new first vice president will be Ahmed Farah Takat, with Yusuf Hussein Mumin serving as the third vice president and Abdirashid Abdulle Mohamed as the second. The woman’s representative on the Executive Committee is Fahmo Kulle Ali.

“I thank the Football Congress which has chosen us to lead the Federation for the next four years.

The Football community needs to always be together,” said the newly elected SFF President.

He urged everyone with grievances to speak up and seek resolution.

We are ready to work together and develop football in Somali,” he added.

The first task, according to Ali Abdi Mohamed, will be to adequately prepare the national U-17 team to play in the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Algeria.

By winning the CECAFA U-17 championship and earning a spot in the U-17 AFCON last year, the Somalia U-17 team changed the course of history.
