AFCON-20 AFCON 2022:Ogwuche Named Man Of Match After Flying Eagles Win

Flying Eagles player, Abel Ogwuche was voted as Man of the Match in the 1-0 victory over Uganda on Thursday in the AFCON U20.

Ogwuche was handed a startingjersey following the suspension of Daniel Bamiyi who is serving match ban for accumulation of yellow cards.

In the 2023 CAF U20 African Nations Cup quarterfinal in Ismailia, the seven-time African champions edged out the Cranes of Uganda to win the semifinal and World Cup tickets.

He put on a strong effort during the game, giving the squad with the crucial block in the middle of the defense and preventing Ugandans from entering the defense.

Ogwuche was named the award’s winner by CAF via their Twitter account.

Ibrahim Juma’s goal at home in the match’s 30th minute gave the Flying Eagles a spot in the semifinals of the 2023 U-20 Nations Cup in Egypt.

Senegal had previously qualified for the semifinals and the World Cup during the first quarterfinals.
