Arsenal Arsenal Defeat Fulham In London Derby To extend League Lead

After a convincing 3-0 victory over Fulham on Sunday, Arsenal reclaimed a five-point lead over the competition’s other teams and made some Premier League history in the process.

The Gunners became the first side to win five straight away London derbies without giving up a goal with goals from Gabriel, Gabriel Martinelli, and skipper Martin Odegaard in the first half.

After a 1-0 victory against Crystal Palace on Saturday, second-placed Manchester City closed the gap to just two points, putting pressure on the Gunners to start the day.

With 11 games left, Mikel Arteta’s team can close the gap to eight points with a victory over Crystal Palace at home the following Sunday before Manchester City’s next Premier League match.

The Fulham Cottagers, led by Marco Silva, are seventh in the league after losing just once in their previous seven home games across all competitions.

In the 21st minute, Gabriel, who also scored on his debut against Fulham in 2020, headed in Trossard’s corner kick from inside a crowded six-yard box to give Arsenal the lead.
