Abdu Maikaba, the head coach of Enugu Rangers, has refused to criticize his players for their defeat to Rivers United.

When reacting to the result, Maikaba stated that both teams played well and that they hope to play again soon.

Better results in the league’s second stanza.

“Both sides showcased good football. If not for the mistake of the referee I don’t think we would have conceded that goal because it’s our foul but it gave it the other way but even with that we supposed to have equalised.

“It’s not our day, the boys played very well and I believed it’s a sign of improvement going into the second round.

“Going into Super 6 will not be an easy task but if 9 games in the first round can give us 10 points i think we can do better in the second round playing the same number of matches“, he said.
