UEFA Champions League Samuel Eto’o likens Andre Onana to former Inter goalkeeper

Cameroo FA president Samuel Eto’o who watched Andre Onana on Wednesday night against AC Milan in UEFA Champions league semi-finals, likens his countryman to a former Inter goalkeeper.

With 43 saves, Onana has the highest save tally in the Champions league this season.

The 27-year old also has the most clean sheets (7) so far in the competition.

The former Ajax Amsterdam shot-stopper is clearly having the season of his life in the biggest stage of European football.

Eto’o who watched him grow from his Academy in Cameroon to Masia in Barcelone, heaped praise on him as he enjoyed his display from San Siro stands in Inter’s 2-0 win over AC Milan.

He even likened him to his former teammate Julio Cesar with whom he won the trebe in 2010 under Jose Mourinho guidance.

“He’s my son, he grew up in my academy”, Eto’o told Prime Video.

“He was a good boy, I have so many emotions when I remember his debut. He’s as good with his feet as Julio Cesar.”
