Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has disclosed that Marcus Rashford is close to making a return.

The England international missed the match against Sheffield United and the draw with Burnley due to an injury sustained in the Emirates FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City.

It was believed that the forward would not play again at Crystal Palace on Monday night, but the manager told Mark Sulivan of MUTV that he might be able to demonstrate his health in time.

While Scott McTominay and Bruno Fernandes are also running out of time, Jonny Evans will undoubtedly rejoin the team if he continues training without any problems over the weekend.

“We have some players with question marks,” Erik told club media at Carrington. “Rashy, I think he is a big doubt.

“For Monday, at this moment, I do not expect him back.

“Hopefully, he can make the turn but that is also the same for Bruno Fernandes.

” I regret also to say but he is also a big doubt. He is still fighting for the game on Monday night.

“The good news is Jonny Evans returned to the training pitch and, if the two days go well, he will be in the squad.

“I also expect Scott McTominay, he didn’t train during the course of the week, but I expect him back on the training ground and on the pitch on Saturday.

“He then has two training [sessions] going into that game with Crystal Palace.”

The match at Selhurst Park is our second-to-last away game of the season, and Anthony Martial is getting closer to being fully recovered after a January groyne operation.

After a run of three games in a week, the management has had to deal with a long injury list, but there is still some time until this most recent match.

Under new manager Oliver Glasner, Palace has significantly improved and most recently defeated Liverpool 1-0.
