Uruguay progressed to the semi-finals of the Fifa U20 World Cup after recording a 2-0 victory against the USA at Estadio Unico Madre de Ciudades on Monday.
Anderson Duarte put Uruguay ahead in the 21st minute and they sealed the game in the 56th minute when USA defender Joshua Wynder turned the ball into his own net while under pressure to clear a danger.
The South Americans, who dominated proceedings from the onset, opened the scoring after a counter-attack put Duarte in front of an empty goal and he tapped the ball home. The Uruguayans then doubled their lead through an own goal by Wynder.
