On the other hand, Erling Haaland scored 52 goals in 53 appearances with Manchester City adding to having won the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions league.

He also ended the season as Champions league top scorer (12), Premier League Golden Boot winner (36), Premier League Player of the season and Young player of the season.

Many fans believe the former Dortmund star will win the Ballon d’or 2023 but Goal still puts Lionel Messi in their ranking of the favourites after the Champions league final.
