Nigeria Premier League Super Six Playoffs: Rivers United, Enyimba Eye Title On Final Day Clash

When they play Enyimba in the final match of the Super Six playoffs on Sunday (today), defending champion Rivers United will try to win the Nigeria Premier League once again.

Enyimba, an eight-time winner, currently sit atop the standings after four games and eight points.

Despite having fewer goals against, Rivers United has a comparable number of points.

Enyimba will be able to take home the N100m prize money and an NPL title that extends their record with just a draw.

For Rivers United to successfully defend the championship they won for the first time last season, they must win the match.

The third-placed Remo Stars, who have six points, can still defeat Rivers United and Enyimba, but they must defeat Bendel Insurance by a significant margin.

However, the Sky Blue Stars will be able to qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup with just a draw.

To place third, Bendel Insurance needs to defeat Remo Stars by at least three goals.

The opening game of the day will feature a contest between Sunshine Stars and Lobi Stars. The only thing on the line for the two sides is pride.
