Uncategorised De Bruyne To Miss Man City Super Cup Game Against Sevilla

After sustaining a second hamstring injury in the season’s first league game, Kevin De Bruyne was left off Manchester City’s roster for the Uefa Super Cup match with Sevilla.

The 36th minute of Friday’s 3-0 victory over Burnley by City saw the Belgian international leave the pitch.

De Bruyne had earlier hobbled off during the team’s victory in the Champions League final in June, and manager Pep Guardiola had said it was the same ailment that had returned.

The same hamstring is involved, again. After the match at Burnley, Gaurdiola remarked, “I don’t know (how long he will be out); it depends on the severity of the injury, but it will be a few weeks.

For Wednesday’s Uefa Super Cup match in Athens, Guardiola selected a 22-man squad.

The Champions League and Europa League champions from the previous season compete in this match.
