Tanzania Simba SC delights coach Oliveira after back-to-back wins

Simba SC head coach Roberto Oliveira expressed his satisfaction following his team’s 2-0 win over Dodoma Jiji at Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam over the weekend.

Following the second victory of the season, the Wekundu wa Msimbazi continued to dictate terms at the summit of the Mainland Premier League table ahead of Mashujaa and Geita Gold. Two goals from Jean Baleke and Moses Phiri were enough to see Simba maintain their 100-per cent start to the Premier League campaign.

“I am satisfied with the way my team is playing because we have many good players who are determined to help the team win matches all the time,” Oliveira said, adding: “I like playing offensive football and for me, football is not a fight but rather a talent and an art…I am happy to see that my players understand well my philosophy because we play well and win games.”

It was Simba’s second successive victory in the league this season and the team has already scored six goals in two matches after beating Mtibwa Sugar 4-2 and Dodoma Jiji 2-0. Dodoma Jiji assistant coach Kassim Lyogope said their game plan worked well though they surrendered maximum points at the end.

“We did well to contain them at midfield where their strength is installed but we could not manage to hold on to that because they have good players capable to change the game at any moment,” said Lyogope.

Likewise, Coastal Union coach Mwinyi Zahera whose team settled a 1-1 draw against Mtibwa Sugar said it was a fair performance to them though their mission was to celebrate a victory.
