Premier League Haaland Wins PFA Player Of The Year Award As Saka Scoop YPOTY Award

After an outstanding debut season with the treble champions, Erling Haaland of Manchester City won the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award on Tuesday.

The female award went to Rachel Daly of England and Aston Villa, who was chosen by her fellow competitors.

The awards, which are presented by the Professional Footballers’ Association, honour the top male and female football players in England in 2023.

Haaland had an outstanding first season with City, scoring 52 goals across all competitions to help Pep Guardiola’s team win the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League.

The 23-year-old defeated rivals John Stones and Kevin De Bruyne, as well as Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, and Harry Kane, a former Tottenham striker who is currently playing for Bayern Munich.

Young Player of the Year for men went to Saka, while for women it went to Chelsea’s Lauren James.

Daly and James were instrumental in helping England reach the Women’s World Cup final, where they were defeated by Spain earlier this month.
