Transfers Done Deal: Arsenal’s Nuno Tavares completes move to Forest

Nuno Tavares has completed his move from Arsenal to Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan deal.

The 23-year-old defender spent last season on loan at Marseille and scored six goals in 31 Ligue 1 appearances. In total, he played 21 times for the Gunners after signing from Benfica in 2021.

A statement from Arsenal confirmed: “Nuno Tavares has joined Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan,” adding: “The 23-year-old spent last season on loan with Ligue 1 side Marseille, where he made 39 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals. The attacking left-sided full-back joined us from Portuguese side Benfica in July 2021. He made 28 appearances in all competitions for us in his first season, scoring once and assisting twice.”

The statement continued: “Nuno isn’t fazed by a debut, he has scored on his first competitive starts for both Benfica and Marseille last season. His first-ever appearance for us also came with a goal in a 2-2 draw against Rangers in a pre-season friendly the same month he joined.

“Everyone at Arsenal wishes Nuno all the best this coming season with Nottingham Forest.”
