The CAF Confederation Cup first leg match between Al Hilal Benghazi and Rayon Sports could potentially be played in Kigali on either September 23 or 24, according to Times Sport of Rwanda.
The match was initially scheduled to take place Friday, September 15 at Benina Martyrs of February 19 Stadium in Benghazi but there are high chances that it could be rescheduled after both clubs on Wednesday, September 13, wrote to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) requesting to postpone the encounter to a later date as Libyan storm death toll continues to grow.

A pre-match meeting was held at Berenice Hotel Benghazi bringing together officials from Rayon Sports, Al Hilal Benghazi, and match officials. Considering that the draw for the group stages is scheduled on October 5, the teams proposed to play the first leg on either September 23 or 24 and the second leg on September 30 at Kigali Pele Stadium. CAF is looking into the clubs’ proposal and is expected to make a decision before Rayon Sports departs for Libya on Saturday.
Rayon held their first training session on Wednesday, hours after arriving in Benghazi. Al Ta’awon midfielder Haruna Niyonzima, who played for the club between 2006 and 2007 was in attendance for the training session.
