Kenya Anyembe ruled out, Timbe doubtful for Kenya vs Russia clash

All players called up to the Harambee Stars squad are fit for Monday’s historic international friendly match against Russia, save for Ayub Timbe.

Timbe had a swollen ankle in camp and will wait to pass a late fitness test to determine whether he could make the starting team or at least the matchday squad. Influential defender Daniel Anyembe, who played a key role in Kenya’s most recent friendly matches against Qatar and South Sudan, has been ruled out.

Anyembe could also not secure a release from his club in time for the match. The rest of the squad is however fit and ready for the match set to be played tomorrow, Monday, October 16, at the Titanic Sports Complex in Antalya, Turkey, starting at 7 pm EAT.

This will be Kenya’s final test match ahead of the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers which kick off in November this year.
